Red Bull Big Tune was created by DJ, producer and emcee, Vitamin D and Hip Hop visionary/event producer, Jonathan Moore. The event started in 2004 with the sole purpose of providing quality music and a platform for producers to express their talents. Now that its national tour has been running strong for three consecutive years, many of the top producers have gravitated towards the competition.

Last week, Denver featured a heated battle between the finest local and guest beat producers. Each opponent brought their most original tracks to put on display for hundreds in attendance at The Church. The finals consisted of producer Experiment and defending champion of last years competition, Boon Doc. In the end Boon Doc fended off all newcomers with his original sounds.

During the the competition Detour Production and The Gro Project hooked up with some of the participants and the creators of the event to talk about their influences. Big ups to the two-time Denver champ, Boon Doc !
